Good thing I got the 80gig Zune!

It would appear the 30 gig versions gained self awareness and have begun mass suicide. Of course, when Microsoft unkills them all, the Zunes will be bitter at humanity and launch Judgment Day. Happy New Years!

The end of an error

So the west coast hasn't closed their polling yet, it is pretty obvious that this is over now for McCain. But while I can say that I am very glad to have voted for him, Obama has already hurt the local economy. I was going to order a pizza and stay up and watch the news, but now I don't have to. Sorry local small business. :-(

Why I watch debates on MSNBC.

MSNBC gets chan'd, originally uploaded by dragonpup.

They tend to get internet'd for the lulz.

Good night, sweet prince

My car got rear ended :(, originally uploaded by dragonpup.

My trusty old 98 Sentra is being totalled. I was waiting to make a left hand turn into my company's parking lot when the women driving the black Toyota stopped watching the road to yell at her kids in the back seat, pushing me right into that nice Accura.

I guess a standard for how my week is going can be if I was hit by a car. Like Sarah Palin, if I lower enough expectations, I can't be disappointed.

Early Morning Fun

EarlyMorning, originally uploaded by dragonpup.

And by 'fun', I mean not.

So at 4:30 in the morning today the building's fire alarms go full blast. False alarm of course.

What what was I doing when this happened? I was having the 'Viking Dream'. All the guys can tell you what this is. You may not actually be a viking, per se, but you are kicking ass on some medieval-ish battlefield with some awesome narrator extolling your awesomeness. I think Ron Perlman was doing mine. And as soon as he started talking the alarms went off.

The day didn't get much better, but sine it's just past 11PM, there's not much time for much else to go wrong.

6.99 Miles

In an effort to lose some weight I have been using the exercise bike at a local gym. I set it to that 'Fat Burning' program which is an up and down hill setting, and just last week worked up for doing it in half hour stretches. Last night I was trying to meet my goal of doing 7 miles in those 20 minutes. Sadly, I fell short and hit 6.99 miles. How horrible is that? Just a few more seconds and I would have had hit 7 miles even.

On the home front, I just got a new movie poster for my bare walls. I got the Kill Bill Volume 2 poster of Uma Thurman in the bride's gown holding her sword. Quite badass. Just need to get a frame and mount it. I was thinking of placing it over one of the media cabinets next to the TV and the awesome clock. Now I just need to find one for the other side. Decisions, decisions.

Finally, Flag. It's an anime series, and it is pretty good. The story takes place in a fictitious Middle East country that has only gotten over its civil war and with the upcoming peace process, starting to teeter on the edge. The story is completely told from the view of 2 war photographers. And when I say from their view, I mean from their camera lens. It is very maturely set, and quite well done. I just grabbed the last volume and here's hoping it ends well!

6 months

The time sure flies. It would be 6 months tomorrow since I signed my mortgage and became a homeowner. I think I have become a lot more self dependant now that I am living alone, and even eating better(I also am up to 5 miles on the exercise bike going uphill). I guess it would be more appropriate to make this post tomorrow, but I'd probably forget to post it! That and tomorrow I am working overtime to help cover the costs of replacing one of my car's axles earlier this month, meeting up with Theresa for Pizza & Anime night(except that we are watching Battlestar season 3), and then it's Ard Boyz night.

In other news, I very slowly started to paint up more of my High Elves. I took a bit of a break from painting, so it is nice working my way back into the hobby aspect.

All in all, not a whole heck of a lot to report.

So say we all!

Battlestar Galactica finally returns for its forth and final season on Friday. 20 episodes until the end, which SciFi will undoubtedly stretch out for as long as they can. :-(

At least I have SciFi in High Defination now.

Getting back in the habit.

It's been a while since I've actually role played with people. Actual role playing, not MMORPGs which lack the RPG end. I have a Ecclesiarchy Cleric rolled up for Dark Heresy. And this Cleric doesn't heal anything except heretics on the business end of his 'Endbringer' Hand Cannon. You must respect a game where a critical hit to the head can cause an explosion of gore that can blind people nearby.

In other news, AnimeBoston is only a week away, and I am already pre-registered. I've been to a couple different cons, and AB is very well organized, with plenty of room. This year the Arvard Ard Boyz are returning for another 40k megabattle. If you see some bright red Sisters of Battle tearing up the table, those are my models. :)

8 years gained.

Yea, that last post was a bit more depressing than I like to post, but it is nice getting something off of your chest that has been there for a while. It helped me think of what happened during the past 8 years.

I worked a menial job.
I nearly died.
I survived.
I got a better job.
I have friends.
I traveled.
I found a family that we thought were all killed during World War II.
I bought a home.
I live.
